La Granja de San Ildefonso. Royal Palace and Gardens La Granja of San Ildefonso is placed only 13 km away of Segovia. There you can find a Royal palace and its beautiful gardens and fountains. The royal palace was ordered to be built in the XVIIIth century by Felipe V, the first Borbón of Spain. The first intention of the king was to built a residence without luxuries, to rest and to hunt. Later, Felipe V and his second wife Elizabeth from Farnese embellished and enlarged the palace. The king moved back to this place in 1724 and during twenty following years he made the gardens and the palace bigger. The palace was used like summer residence by all its successors up Alfonso XIII period. The gardens are some of the best examples that today survive from the gardens of the XVIIIth century. It raised its construction in accordance with the French tastes. The fountains are known especially by its water playing, which compose with its fountains and statues wonderful and amazing spectacles. From all the fountains stand out the Fame,  or the baroque one of the Baths of Diana, that of Latona, with its thinnest fountains, the magnificent Horse racing, or the impressive Cascade opposite to the palace front. The water play of thsi fountains can be seen in spring, from Holy Week. We can realize visit according your time. Depending on the same one, we will be able to realize visit of the interior of the Palace and part of the Gardens and fountains.

World Heritage Site

(Approximate duration 3 hours). Adaptable according to your available time. The route World Heritage is the most recommended for your first visit to the city and undoubtedly the most demanded. Segovia was proclaimed World Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 1985. We will walk along the city center of Segovia, being able to discover in this route the most representative monuments. These are the Aqueduct, the Cathedral and the Alcazar. We will penetrate into the old town of the city, knowing its main streets and more remarkable points. We will pass as well the area where the ancient Jewish quarter of Segovia was placed. We will take the aqueduct as a starting point and will walk along our main street, which it´s called the Royal street. We will stop in the most remarkable points until we reach the Main square where  the Town hall, the Theater and our current Cathedral, (last Gothic cathedral  built in Spain) are placed. We will go down the quarter of the canonries to go to the Alcazar of Segovia. This Alcazar was used as a Royal palace and later became a Military artillery Academy. Discover the place where they decided to locate it, making it a practically unassailable building. In this visit you will be able to choose to follow the route enjoying the buildings from the exterior or to include a visit inside the monuments like the main synagogue, the cathedral and/or the Alcazar of Segovia. Segovia Sightseeing Tour. Enjoy the best views of Segovia!

Segovia Sightseeing Tour (Approximate duration: 1 hour)   If you come in group with bus and are provided with a little time to visit Segovia, to realize a Sightseeing Tour it is undoubtedly your best option. A general vision of the city will help you to go to you, optimizing the time to the maximum.   We will realize a Sightseeing Tour in bus taking several of the best images of Segovia. We will take the Aqueduct as a starting point, beginning in the stop that there is enabled for the buses where we will be meeting. The bus will stop there so that I could join the group. We will go down for the Slope of Santo Domingo, up to reaching the area of the Avenue of the Fuencisla. From there we will be able to enjoy the best image of the Alcazar of Segovia, very similar to a castle of fairy tale. A parking lot enabled for buses exists in the same place, where we will stop for a few minutes; there we will be able to take a picture with this Alcazar as Background, which remembers us to the castle of Snow White of Walt Disney. From there, we will gain access again to the city center through the called Slope of the Holes. This way we will be able to contemplate the opposite side of our Alcazar and a big sight of our Gothic cathedral. Riofrio. Palacio Real

Palacio Real de Riofrio   Riofrio. está situado a poco más de 10 kms de Segovia. Alli encontramos un gran bosque con gamos y ciervos en libertad y un palacio Real Esta finca era propiedad del Marqués de Paredes y empezó a ser alquilada por Felipe V y su segunda esposa Isabel de Farnesio como coto de caza. El Palacio de Riofrio fue mandado construir por Isabel de Farnesio , la cual quería construirse un palacio privado.  Pensaba que iba a quedar privada del Palacio de la Granja cuando se quedo viuda. Cuando muere Fernando VI, Isabel de Farnesio fue llamada a ocupar la regencia. Trasladó su residencia al Palacio Real de La Granja: Riofrio acabó convirtiéndose en pabellón de caza, paró las obras en el mismo. El Palacio de Riofrío quedó incorporado al Patrimonio de la Corona por Carlos III, tras el fallecimiento de la reina viuda en 1766. Por tanto el palacio solo sirvió como pabellón de caza en el siglo XVIII y XIX . Sólo residieron en él personas reales durante cortos períodos en la segunda mitad del XIX, especialmente el rey consorte don Francisco de Asís y Alfonso XII cuando enviudó, correspondiendo a estas épocas la decoración interior y el mobiliario Se trata de un edificio cuadrangular de grandes dimensiones, austero y sobrio, pero con un interior de arquitectura barroca. Destaca en él su escalera principal, dividida en dos gemelas y simétricas. En su interior, el Palacio alberga el Museo de caza con dioramas sobre especies cinegéticas españolas.
